| Gas prices out side La. I am on a fishing site for the Ohio area and the prices all over the state are cheaper than we have here. |

There are 5 refineries in Ohio including 2 in Toledo. Approx 20% of the US gasoline is refined in the mid-west.

I checked the tax rate and it doesn't justify that big of a gap, they are only $.02 higher than Louisiana. Sent |

It's all about marketing strategy, I asked the marketing guys at the refinery where I used to work and the answer that I got was "The price is set by whatever the market will bear". The pump price has little to do with transportation or delivery costs. MidWest, PAD 2, does have 20% of US refining capacity, OHIO has only 3% of that. GulfCoast, PAD 3, has 51% of US refining capacity, Louisiana has 18% of that and Texas has 29%. It's not fair its whatever the market will bear. |

It's all about blending fuels and what the market will bear. Gas sold in LA is not the same gas sold in Ohio. And I would assume that most gas produced in Ohio never sees the pumps in Ohio. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

It's like 2.14$/g here on base and steadily going down. Found some about 40 miles northwest of us in Waverly for 1.99$/g

That's when the Dilbert in me decided that I wanted to be in marketing where I didn't have to justify every project had an acceptable ROI. Of course that didn't happen, Oh well.

When I am up north I see the base Octane is 85 and 86. I've never seen it below 87 in Louisiana. So the blend definitely has something to do with it.
