The grass was so thick along the smooth cord grass it was impossible to work any lures. After fighting the grass and the wind we decided to head back into the pen and try our luck at some specks on artificial. I anchored up almost directly across from the launch and threw a chartreuse with black flecks sand eel. I hooked a keeper trout and the bite was on for a while. I managed to catch a "W"all hanger before we moved about 200 yards up and caught the rest of what we came home with. A dozen or so keeper specks and another 25 or 30 dinks. All specks caught on sand eel and tsunami swim baits. Not a bad day for my first time. I am headed back tomorrow with the wife to try for at least a limit.
That's a "W"hopper. LMAO Nice haul.
