Growing up in the Lake Tahoe area, we use to catch crawfish like this, on a string. We would use beef liver, tied to a 6ft string, throw out about 10 of them in a row from the shore line near a pile of rocks. By the time you slowly pulled in the last line, the first was good and soaked with a crawfish on it, and you just repeated till you had enough or got bored (you know how it is when your a kid)
We called them blues up there, not bugs, for the the simple reason, up in the mountain's they were BLUE CRAFISH
