Default Freeport offshore fishing info needed please.

I have fished plenty out of Cameron but never out of Freeport. My brother has a rig and we are heading out of Freeport Saturday morning. Snapper season is closed but was wondering if anyone could direct us to locations for amberjack, ling, wahoo. We have the Hook and Line maps but from my experience, not all locations really are stacked like they say. Thank you so much in advance for any help so we wont be running blind. He has a 34' Whaler so distance is not a real challenge, but closer the better.

I'm pretty sure Texas waters are open for snapper.

I must have misread, thank you. I read that inshore, 9 miles out and closer, will open in late May and offshore has not been decided yet.
