ICY question

I usually run through the old vermillion to get to little bay, buck point and redfish point. A friend of mine told me that the water was low and that I might not be able to run that way. Does anyone know if that's true and if so what would be the best way to get to that area? Should I go through 4-mile?

As long as you are on high tide you are good to run through the old vermilion if you are worried about the water the four mile is the way to go for sure.

We run it all the time high are not just have to really know where to pass. Because to dr left or right and your stuck.

Yep, it gets really shallow around there on low tide. My boat runs fairly shallow and I've still had way too many close calls to keep going through there. Now I run down 4-mile 100% of the time when I'm fishing that side. Like Quackhead said if you go a little too far to the left or right - you're stuck. It's not a good feeling when you're kicking up mud and looking at birds not getting their ankles wet. all u can do is put the hammer down and pray that you don't stop until you hit deeper water. If you look on Bing maps you'll see where you need to run but I find it too risky to keep going that route. Good luck. Be safe.

Rat, I'm not familiar with Bing maps. What do I need to do to look at the map you are talking about?

go to bing.com at the to of the page click on maps. Click satellite at bottom of left of page and zoom in. It's nothing special...it's just a satellite image map like google maps. I look at these when I'm running new areas because it's such a low tide it gives me an idea of where I shouldn't try going.
