Man I worked out there on an inland barge all last summer. I caught so much fish, it was hard for me to leave work. Mostly at night but every now and then during the day the birds would start working around the rig and we would sling a few. We drilled 4 wells out there for Tana Resources, two north of East Timbalier Island, and two north of Timbalier Island. All 4 of the wells were no more than a half a mile off of each island and all had piling clusters driven to secure the barge in place a long with huge sand bags placed underneath the rig instead of a shell pad. The reason I am telling you this is because after we drilled the first well and moved the rig off location the crew boat captains would tie up to the pilings when they weren't busy and absolutely murder the trout. The water depth was about 8' but the sand bags stuck up about 3' out of the mud. When the tide was ripping hard enough the water would flatten out on top of the sandbags like it would on a reef. I don't know if they pulled the piling clusters or if the sand bags are still in tact but I would look for some Tana Wellheads. The one they would hammer them at was SL 1772 #143. I don't have the coordinates but that area is definitely fishy.

That really depends on which part you are fishing. I keep the boat a little north of Cocodrie in Chauvin, and I tend to fish Barre, Jacko, La Fleur, Lucien, etc. Early summer you have to run down to the islands.

Legal limits....I to keep boat in Chauvin. Have a camp there and don't get to use it as much as I like. I usually fish the area of Wine Island to Coon Point. Would like to team up like the guides and bust the fish in the yellow mouth!

Ragin_Cajun and legallimits, my boat is in Dulac and I'm interested in venturing east of Pelto as well. If either of y'all are amenable, I'd like to team up and bounce ideas off one another.

Wind has been blowing all week, visabity limited to a maybe a little over a foot that said still caught some trout but had to grind to get them. Catch one or two then have to move on. Stayed on backside of islands to rough on gulf side.
