Make sure to connect the end to the metal frame of the trailer. Pick up my new boat a few years ago, notice the service tech. had install the trailer end of the tie down to a pad eye lag screw. The pad eye lag screw was screwed into the running board.... Not a smart ideas....as these great Louisiana roads, will cause the boat with running board to separate from the metal frame of the trailer.
