hello ! I'm going to go out on a limb and try this question here........

growing up in marrero and Lafitte i always heard the word "Cachoumais" - (co shoe may) slang word for someone who was mixed french indian basically........ wondering if anyone else is familiar with the term? looking for a correct spelling basically. i tried to spell it the best way i would know how. thanks for anything here !
