From what I have researched it looks to me like bead board falls in to category within tongue and groove. As in you can get tongue and groove boards in bead, v groove, center match, etc...I could be wrong.

Regardless I got to pricing some 1x6 T&G board and it is not as economical as I had hoped. I have a difficult decision on my hands.

Throw some roofing tin up there, looks good and no maintenance.

Beadboard can be bought in 4X8 sheets. Some people use that for exterior ceiling projects.

In my opinion, it doesn't look as good as T&G, but some people make it work for their application.

yep, bead board is just another form of paneling, its no where near the quality or strength of tounge and groove lumber
