guys thanks for the info and believe tonight i will be going to buy a box of core lokt bullets. and i am gonna bump up to a 165 grain instead of the 150 grain. this has been a very informative thread for me. thanks to all.

Before I bought my .243 cal rifle many years ago......I shot a small deer with a 30-06 that I borrowed. I don't know what size bullet it was.....it was big. What I remember most was how badly the meat was tore up . IMO....It was "way over kill" for what was needed.

i hunt in thick timber and swamps all we shoot is 180 grain remington core locks through our 30-06 and have never had a deer run off
