I had a 2013 F-150 4x4 crew max with the 3.5 EB and it pulled my bay boat with on issues. I have no experience with the 2.7 EB which Ford is now pushing even more due to price. BTW, my Ford towed better than my truck I had before it which was a Chevy that had the 5.3V8. I currently have a Toyota Tundra 4x4 CM Platinum and it tows great and even better in tow haul mode. What a lot of people also need to consider when towing close to the max weight is when you need to stop / braking of the vehicle.
