Churn Leeville/Fourchon 21/8/10

Made a trip to Leeville yesterday. On the way down 308 I was getting excited when I crossed the bridge to hwy 1 and saw how flat the water was I was even more excited. By the time I was down to Leeville I was freaking PUMPED! The water was beautiful green and I knew it would be on! I bought 30 cocaho minnows and 2# of market bait at Terry's bait and put in behind Boudreaux's hotel. I have a small boat but on a day as flat as yesterday I can go anywhere I want. We ran down to Fourchon and out into the bay. The first jacket I tied on to was all it took. There were 4 of us in my boat and we caught trout until we ran out of live bait one after another. Tied on tandem rigs and continued to catch then two at a time. Had a few sharks spool us and Caught 5 HUGE Gaftops. The 4 of us filled up a 60qt ice chest with nice trout I lost track of how many fish we had. When I couldn't close the lid I made them start to throw back. Caught way over 150 fish. My 12 year old son hooked into a 35/40# Jack that I chased with the boat while he fought it for about 30 min. He fought that fish like a pro. I am very proud of him. He was mad when I would not let him keep it. The really cool thing is he caught it on 12# test line. LOL Here are a few pics.
