Dularge Fishing

Enjoyed my weekend 'DOWN IN DULARGE'! This great weather continues and fall fishing is underway. The crisp mornings just want to make you be out on the water enjoying the outdoors. The weekend started out great with a good meal Friday night courtesy of Shawn Whitney. Shawn caught our dinner during the day and it was fresh trout on the menu for his guests. Bryan Richardson and his 10 yr old twin boys Ben & Matt joined us later that night and were excited about their fishing trip on Saturday. Saturday morning I fished with Brian and the boys along with deckhand Dead-eye Chris and Capt Gerald Ellender fished with Ben Harang of Thibodaux and his friend. There were boats everywhere as it looked like most were chasing down trout under the birds. I decided to bottom fish for reds to give the youngsters all they could handle. Capt Gerald started off trout fishing with his crew. Ben & Matt were wore out by the end of the day from reeling in the big fish. We probably caught in excess of 30 fish with the reds being scarce as the blackdrum were out in full force. We ran out of bait at Grand Pass as everyone was reeling in fish on every cast! Capt Gerald had a box of trout and a couple reds with both groups having a great time. Shawn & his crew busted up some redfish along with a few trout. Enjoyed a fun filled evening watching the LSU game with my brother Tommy Lake and his son Gavin. They had a small window to fish and caught a good box of bass, redfish and fw catfish. A perfect weekend with friends & family.......up until the Saints loss this afternoon. Doug Wood from Monroe, La. arrived this afternoon for his trip in the morning and we're all hoping for a successful trip. Good luck fishing.
