Right now, windy as heck. Not too clear at 210 bridge.

The water coming down the Calcasieu river was very muddy yesterday on the Hwy 171 bridge.

I went out to Prien again today, and the water clarity is actually really good if you find a spot out of the wind (which is not an easy task). There is tons of bait. If you hit it early in the am, you can get a couple of hours before you get blown out. When I headed home around noon it was probably gusting 30 and I was looking at 2 ft rollers which is not fun in a 16ft aluminum boat.

Yeah, its gotta be the wind kicking up that muddy water on the calcasieu near 171. I know there isnt a whole lot of fresh water being sent into the lake...the river guages up and down the river are showing water levels that are on par for late summer...not much outflow. Havent had rain in awhile. Either way, May is fast approaching and these winds will die down in a few weeks. Thanks.

The water was real high under 210 yesterday when I passed over the bridge.
It look pretty good. It was over the roads that run to the wellheads by 2 ft. or more. And I could see the roads real good. |

The water on the river is muddy due to the farmers releasing the water from their fields. Over time the muddy water will reach 210. I did see where some has been catching specks well under the lights in Prien. So this might be a better options due to the winds lying down after sunset. Catching fish on berkley gulp in the mullet color.
