Yep, i've been dealing with it too, they even assign a board to determine if you are a good parent or not, has nothing to do with how i raise my kids, but if they are involved with anything at school it's not a good thing...treating our kiddo's worst than a common criminal..

Same here.......I always told my 2, if someone else started it you better finish it & you better get your moneys worth! Make that 3 days worth it! They did a time or 2 & word got around real quick, never had another problem with other peoples kids

Wt said it right. If they didn't start it, pat em on the back. It's aggrevating but, not nearly as bad as seeing kids, especially your own getting pushed around!

When I was in school, which wasn't very long ago, no matter if you threw the first punch or recieved both parties were considered "involved" and a "disruption" to the surrounding students. I personally think it is a crock of poopoo.
But I do understand the message they are trying to teach. That voilence is not always the answer. Resolve your problems another way. I also think that have the child's future in mind. You want to send a message that in society it is unacceptable and punishment will be much worse. |

tha'ts why my son goes to private school.... I work 7 days a week to do it, but he is not under the stupid rules of public schools!! He's been a school fight before, Both sets of parents got called in. they explained what happened, and the kid that started it got punished and the other was told next time find a teacher instead of fighting back.... they are actually friends today!

It is important to teach kids to always defend themselves, but ask any Concealed Carry holder can tell you, you can go from victim to aggressor quick in an altercation. Teaching someone to "finish" a fight they didn't start can get them in trouble later in life. I don't disagree with it on a personal level, but speaking in legal terms, you can be held liable for it.

Been there - done that! Mine was bullied for 6 mos by a democrat and picked on that went unchecked even after complaining to all the superior democrats. Finally one day, he got slapped behind the head, turned around and broke the democrats nose with a right cross, and had to be pulled off him. Got 3 days even though the principal said the kid had it coming.
I took some time off and we fished for 3 days!!!!!!!!! The system is flawed and we all know it, but it won't ever change! |

Bub, doubled one up last week walking out of one of his classes. It had been going on for several weeks but he stopped it right in front of the teacher. Teacher told the aggressor he finally discovered that dynamite came in small packages.

Sad but due to society so violent they have to treat every situation the same.
People today rather use guns that fist or learn to talk it out. Back in 1970's when I moved from Louisiana with my parents to California there was boxing gyms for kids on every corner. I joined a gym to make friends and learned hard lesson about life. This was the first thing my trainer told me. "Life will hit you hard. Winners get back up to take the next punch and hit back harder." Boxing taught me how to train, protect myself, and gave me pride in myself. I learned what I did wrong when I lost matches to come back and win the next match. Learned self control, but learned how to take care of myself when bully messed with me. Pride and confidence gave me the courage to not back down to bullies and try to talk it out. When fight with weapons instead of fist or give awards to everyone instead of winners you are not teaching anyone anything. Developing a generation failures. |

when I was in elementary, I got suspended several times for fighting, the principle told my dad if someone hits your son, and he shove, hits back or even touched them he better beat them down and win because the punishment is the same if he wins or loses the fight! Dad looked at me and said well you get in another fight and don't win your getting another beating when you get home! later on when I got in high school, we keep our fights off school property with some boxing gloves and everyone with a car would drive to a certain spot, we'd fight till someone's lights were knocked out or till you were soo worn out you quit. only problem with that was someone would call the cops. so we figured out how to use a police scanner to scram if they were called and we never fought at someone's house.

They tolerate what they want to tolerate by pretending not to notice: drugs, sex, porn, etc.
I once got into trouble (as a high school teacher) for reporting students drug use to their parents and recommending some home drug testing. A lot of local schools close their eyes to electronic misbehavior (sending and receiving sexual text messages and nude pics), sex at school, smoking, etc. It is appalling what schools tolerate. And then when there is something they are really concerned with liability over, they feign zero tolerance and suspend all the participants without any due consideration to the true nature of the conflict. Homeschooling is always an option because the values and tolerance can relfect the values of the parents rather than the warped values of the liberals in charge of the school district. And trust me, the values of the district are always liberal. My daughter got a "disciplinary action report" in one of the (supposedly) most conservative schools in a conservative district because she dared to wear a red armband supporting a prolife message. Trust me, they are not really trying to teach your children math, english, history, and science. They are trying to impart their warped values. |

If you let the other kid sit on you and beat you down, and you do nothing, you still get suspended.
Happened to my nephew. He didn't fight cause he didn't want to get suspended. Then he got suspended. So, when school got out that afternoon, my nephew went and found the kid and it was one on one, no teachers, no suspension. |
