Default West Texas hunt

Headed home now from hunting the Star S Ranch in west Texas. 14,000 acres ..... Absolutely beautiful hill country! And the accommodations were awesome! Went there hoping to find a good white fallow deer. Got there Sunday and rode around for a few hours before dark . We spotted a freaking HUGE axis buck that was in velvet , my guide suggested I don't pass on him because of the size . He was a monster but by the time I put a scope on him he was in the thick brush . The next morning I spotted a good white fallow deer but let him walk in search of a bigger one . We rode around from 7 am -7:00pm hoping in blinds, walking , stalking , riding w/0 any sight of a bigger fallow deer. Tuesday morning we left the lodge at 6:30 am rode to a part of the ranch that was pretty thick rugged terrain. We stared walking a brush line hoping to see a good one . My guide cut the top of a cedar tree to hold in front of us to mask our leg movement incase something was in the brush . We spot a Spotted fallow deer and set up , got my gun ready and waited to see if his white brother would pop out. About 10 min later the big white fallow came out of the brush and I shot him!
