Default Rigging Poles for Pilgrims

When taking people fishing who aren't fortunate enough to fish all the time, how do you rig their poles for double duty and efficiency?

My thought process is spinning reel with straight, lightweight mono for trouts. Then if we switch to cork; they can clip on and keep fishing trout, put a heavy leader for reds, or heavy leader and remove the cork for bottom.

Am I on the right track?? I want to put braid, but don't want to have to keep worrying about the leader for throwing plastics without a cork for trout. The goal here is to give them and myself more time to fish, I will be retying enough as it is.... And I don't have 17 poles in the boat that I can pre rig for every scenario.
