![]() It's going to be painted white 2 Part Question 1-What kind of wood should I use to make it. Obvisouly I will use regular molding around the edges. 2-What paint should I use since it's going to be in a bathroom (high moisture area) |

Use birch plywood for the cabinet and poplar lumber for the fronts and frames. Any semi gloss latex paint will suffice as long as the moisture isn't sitting on it for extended periods.

Water shouldn't sit on it. I need to repaint my cabinets in my bathroom too.

Just make sure you caulk and prime all of it really well then use a good paint. I have trim like that and it's just MDF type material but it's sealed really well.... I will post a pic

Thanks, I'm looking for some ideas. I want to use some 1x12s (if possible) to make it so I dont have to rip as much plywood. |

Not the greatest pics but gives you an idea.... This is all bought trim and wood detailed pieces stacked on each other or on top of MDF that's been caulked to make it all seamless... I also have another vanity and hutch built to look free standing and all that's used for legs is bought table legs that are quartered for each corner or halved like the ones in these pics.

You split those legs with a band saw?
That's some nice work. |

I didn't do it myself but you could use a big bandsaw or table saw... I would want something that I was sure would cut true for mating it to the cabinet. I have alot of this in my kitchen but we antique the paint in there, I can get you some kitchen pics later for some more ideas
