Took my boat out for the first time in 4 months today simply to run it. When I returned to the landing one of my running boards was way off to the side with a bolt missing on the last clamp and the middle clamp not attached due to the board being damaged in that area. A good old zip tie was about all I was able to come up with to keep the running board in place and not float to the side when I backed the trailer down into the water. Looks like I need new running boards and some new hardware to attach to it. Anyone know of who can do this reasonably in the New Iberia area? Looks like 2" x 8" or similar at first glance. I don't have the equipment to hoist the boat up to do the work myself or else it probably wouldn't take much to do it.

Best way is have the brackets that hold them welded in place.....

otherwise simply raise the boat off the trailer with blocks so you can roll the trailer out to work on it. it really is very very easy stuff to replace so it would be a shame to waste $ paying someone to do it and only you will do the best job as anyone else will just be looking to get paid and not make the extra effort to do any routine maint. like cleaning up any rust and painting or replacing old bolts while they are at it. |
