Outboard checklist addition
Had the nut and retainer come loose on a Mercury starter. Caused the drive gear to hang up in the flywheel which caused the worm gear to break on the armature. There goes another $250 that could have been spent elsewhere. Might eyeball it during your maintenance checks.
