can anyone tell me what lures and colors usually work in that i always tight line dead shrimp and would like to try somthing different

I am still new to the area but I have always had some luck on anything purple with a glow green tail. Pink gulp, yellow gulp, new penny gulp and on the lil jon there is a dark color with red/gold flakes that has worked well.

I fish the hackberry hustler a lot and just about color with those works well.
