Thumbs down Bay Flats Lodge was dissapointing

Between 3 experinced fishermen, we caught 19 trout and 6 reds. Out of that, only 6 were big enough to keep and the biggest trout was 19 inches! It was a bust. We fished from daylight to 4 pm. The guide was asking us what we were fishing with. He didn't manage to catch a fish until 2 pm. He was nice but would never make it down here. The lodging and personel were phenominal, but we were there to catch fish and that didn't happen.

Just figured I would follow up and let you guys know.

That's why they call it fishing and not catching, you only fished one day man. Why throw the place under the bus? Have you ever gone to the blind one day and scratch only to hit again the following morning and rip them a new one??????????? You would not liked fishing with me Sunday since we only managed to catch 5 reds while wading frigide water

I smply was pointing out that the guide was dissapointing. His knowledge of trout fishing was minute at best. And I know about scratching and how good days coincide with bad, I am a fisherman! I never "threw the place under the bus", I simply wished we would have had a more experienced guide.

i can understand that for sure, hindsight is 20/20 but it's always best to get references on a captain. thank goodness for a free market tho!

looks like a fancy place they got down there

next time you are down that way, give Gary and Shellie Gray a call and they will treat you right. A few years back before I had a boat I fished with guides down there all of the time, and had multiple trips with the guys at Bay Flats. Their lodge is unbelievable, but... Won't go into the details, so long story short, once I found the Grays I would never dream of fishing with someone else down there!

If I was the owner and you took my money in poker I wouldn't want you to catch any fish either
