looking to get into wade fishing. would like to get the run down of things. tips tricks and what not.

shuffle your feet.I still shuffle even though im wearing ray gaurds.If you use a stringer make sure its easy to release in case a shark wants your fish more than you.pack as light as you can.

trophytrout has it right... shuffle shuffle shuffle... for artificial try and have at least 1 of each of your main colored lures within reaching distance in case you need to swap real fast... other than that, watch for bait and have fun

Also helps if you know the area.You dont want to be waist deep and all of a sudden be floating your hat.

Boga grip with a float on it.
And a stringer with a float on it too.
I won a TTF wading belt at the Salty Cajun fishing tournament in March.
It has a great back support on it, and it came with stainless pliers, stringer,
tackle storage and rod holder. But I love that back support.

It was offshore green this past weekend on the beach.

The wade belt with a good back support is very important.
My first belt was small and cut into my back.
New belt is atleast 12 inches and gives me the support I need.
Get comfortable and reliable stuff for wading.
Don't go cheap if Ur serious about it, buy the good stuff and it'll last.
PS....
Stay away from the soft mushy bottom, I've sunk myself b4 and it scary.

If you are going to get to your wading spot by boat make sure you can get back to it after the tide comes in or out. Never had to swim for a boat but it could get dangerous in the winter.
Read about using a dental floss case to put leader line in while wading in the mechanic shop. Going to try it on my next wade and will report back.

got the wading belt and boga. pretty much have the standard equipment. might spend more after i try it and see if i like it. our camp is on big lake on the east side 2 miles north of heberts. any good area around there to wade or do i need to go further south? not looking for your hot spots just point me in the general direction. like to find them on my own.

plenty of places all up and down the east bank.

I like to use net for trout and boga for reds..... I seem to lose a lot more trout trying to use boga

I waded for the first time this spring, really liked it and I want to do it this winter however, I really need to get a boarding ladder for my boat because getting back in the boat was tuff. Does anyone have any recommendations for ladders?

Step on the cavitation plate above the prop. and pull yourself in the boat.
No ladder needed.
