Default Pig Wrestlers!!!!

Went pull two pigs out the trap this afternoon after work and man were they mean! Let my little man shoot one, then went in and caught the boar, but it was a workout!!!!! Cut my boot, then tried to eat me after I had him tied, had to rope his mouth for the trip home. Looks like he will be on someone's game hoist tomorrow, more to come on him later! Good job to Holden for helping me with this boar, I had my hands full and for a young man of 16 to stand there and help with this battle is a testament to his character! Daddy is proud of you!

that's awesome, I ran over to Allen Parish south of Reeves and there were some hog doggers over there. Pit bull had a kevlar vest on and was bleeding aroung his ear pretty good. Man said that was from earlier catching a boar. That dog was not fazed one bit by it.

That happens - all the time! Very seldom is it anything serious, they do well on their own. The more "gritty" your dogs are, the more first aid you have to deliver, but the more laid back dogs will very seldom get cut, but they have to run a hog longer to shut it down. My buddy's catch dog is a big baby, until he sees a pig. He very seldom gets any scrapes on him at all. I have been doing this for a few years and have on seen one dog seriously hurt (fatal) from a pig and it was not the catch dog. It does happen, but it is not a common thing. Our little Jagdterriers are the always getting cut, because they are so dang crazy, but we staple them up and they are right back at it.

Looks vicious!

I'd like to see someone try to mess with that boy while he was around though!

Hah! There's a point in time when a man says to himself - "*** am I doing?" For me, that moment in time is about the split second I am in mid air going over the side of the trap............on the way in!!!!!!!! After it is all said and done, I enjoy the adrenaline and it keeps me young.......it also helps to know my kids are watching and if they ever screw up in life, their punishment is to take my place jumping over the side. Works like a charm, I hear "yes sir" and "no sir" for weeks after they watch me do it. I guess they figure I really am crazy!
