Default boat motor

I have purchased a 1548 alweld hull and some genius took maximum capacity plates off of it. Anyone know off hand or where I can find out how big is too big for the motor. I'm planning on getting something bigger in the future and I'd rather just be able to transfer the motor to the new hull

I have a 1648 Alumacraft and the max hp is 60 so I would think it would be around there, maybe a little lower.

Alweld is a commercial hull,no coast gaurd tags on some of the older models. I would not put anything bigger than a 50hp 2 stroke,or 30 four stroke. Hope that helps..

I got a alumacraft 1448 max hp is 25 I got a 35, I'm pretty sure a 1548 that is all welded can handle at least 40 hp. 4 stroke motors are a little heavier on the transom you might want to consider less hp if you got or gonna get a 4stroke
