I have a 1648 Alumacraft and the max hp is 60 so I would think it would be around there, maybe a little lower.

Alweld is a commercial hull,no coast gaurd tags on some of the older models. I would not put anything bigger than a 50hp 2 stroke,or 30 four stroke. Hope that helps..

I got a alumacraft 1448 max hp is 25 I got a 35, I'm pretty sure a 1548 that is all welded can handle at least 40 hp. 4 stroke motors are a little heavier on the transom you might want to consider less hp if you got or gonna get a 4stroke
