Default Carrot Stick

I found this post on 2cool. Not really a glowing endorsement for Carrot Stick rods.

Sabine 2-26-11-Took wife fishing this afternoon for a couple of hours today and caught a few Redfish. Lots of bait jumping out of the water and the water temperature is up. Caught this nice Red on light spinning rod. Carrot Stick did not break, I might have got a good one.

for a $200 rod, its a real sensitive light rod, but I have heard a lot about them breaking. anyone use an abu garcia vertias rod? its just as light but half the cost.

i saw about 50% breakage in the carrot stix before i quit selling them. we have some of the veritas and verdict abu rods due in at the tackle box any day now. the lower-end abu rods we carried last year sucked.. they had the same breakage rate as the e-21's.. hope the high-dollar ones are better....

Broke my carrot stick friday on a cast... rared back to throw a crank bait and SNAP... right in the middle... out of nowhere!! Had it for a year. I was pissed. brought it in to the tackle box in sulphur and they told me alot were breaking around the real. Gotta send it off. Place that sold it to me closed down. Bought a Skeet Reese. its ok but kinda bulky for me.
