One afternoon when Thibodoux got home from hunting, there was a stray dog lying on his porch wagging his tail. Marie meets him at the door. "Thibodoux, that darn dog has been here all day. He done dragged da laundry off da line and scattered da chickens. Haul him off now!"
Thibodoux had a long hunt and just wanted to have a beer and a bite to eat. So he loads the dog up and drives up the road a ways, drops off the dog and hurries back home.
After supper, Thibodoux walks onto the porch to have a smoke, and there that dog was, lying on the porch wagging his tail. "Hey Marie. Dat dog done come back. How bout dat."
Marie wasn't impressed so she made him take the dog off again. He drove for several miles this time making several turns and even driving in circles to confuse the dog, before dropping him off in the woods. On his way home he stops to have a beer with Boudreaux. He was there maybe an hour when his phone rang. It was Marie, "Thibodoux. Dat confounded dog is here and he chasing dem chickens."
This time Thibodoux takes the dog on a long ride. Making turn after turn, down pig trails and backroads, across creeks and rivers before dropping the dog off.
Hours later, Thibodoux hasnt made it home yet and Marie starts to get worried. She cant reach him on his cell phone and Boudreaux hasnt seen him. Finally about midnight, her phone rings. Its Thidodoux. "Thibodoux..Where be you at?"
Thibodoux cut her off. "Ne'ermine dat Marie. Is dat dog dare?"
She walked out on the porch, and sure enough, there's that dog. "He be rat here," she says.
"Good," says Thibodoux, "Put him on the phone."
