I'm looking to start fishing Rockefeller. What are some good spots? And is there any good fishing this time of year?

Launch at Joseph's Harbor and Go south. You will go about 1/2 mile or so and come to a T. There is a wier on the western point and another weir directly across the canal from it to the South. If you take a right and go down a good ways, there is another weir on the left. If you take a left at the T, go to the first cut on your left. Turn left and the concrete dam is located a few hundred yards on the left. Keep going down this canal and there is a weir down the first cut to your right. I believe this is where the "Ant Hill" is located. If you keep going down the main canal, there will be little platform structure on your right (visible from the concrete dam), go past this and take your first cut to the left. The mud hole weir is located at the end of the cut to the left.

Going south in main canal, don't turn left a concrete weir, keep going straight, a good ways and first cut to your right.

Good luck and give reports.

If the tide is low...... the canal going to the LSU wier can be a little shallow. The wier is about 1/2 mile off the main channel. From the LSU wier, you can walk along the south bank about 150 yards and there is another wier back there.

Has anyone cast netted for shrimp at the LSU weir? Last time I went, I caught a lot of shrimp, but they were real small.
