Not sure it makes a difference other than looking pretty, a sharp hook does. 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4. Sometimes the lighter the jig the more strikes if they want a slower fall, but they don't cast as far. I try to cast them downwind anyway though.
IMO you really don't need a 1/4 under the cork, I don't think they bounce as high when you pop it. |

I prefer these,glow color works well but very hard to find. Manns quit making them I bought 300 a while back. Gunna suck when I run out...small bait but I have caught some 4-5 pound trout on em. Very durable lure,with a good jighead 1 will last for a limit of trout.

yeh i like the chartreuse glow sparkle beetles . . . . never relly tried those salty grubs, may have to give em a wack

I use a flutter hook on them instead of a jighead.......sinks flatter. I've never seen a shrimp swim straight up and down. They always stay flat

If you work it fast it does not have time to go up and down,more side to side action.

I don't know, if I use a poppin cork I chunk the middle one with a circle hook and no weight

I use old bay sider.... Bought 8 3 years ago..... Still using same 8. I've repainted them a few times. Corks are dinged up , but the main piece is still strait and Workin just like new!!!
