Cheers Cocodrie Fishing 5-20-11

Had two boats running out of Cocodrie today with Lonnie Barr with INOLECT. We decided to stay in the marsh this morning fishing reds. We picked away at a few reds, and puppy drum till around 11:00. We got a report of some trout caught from another boat in the crew. We decided to come back to the camp eat lunch prepared by Shawn Whitney, take a nap, then we headed out for a afternoon trout trip. One stop is all it took as the Burn Hacks were flying like crazy!!!!! The trout wanted nothing to do with plastics in the stained water, carolina rigged minnows did the trick. No limits caught, but good times and happy customers!! YES, I had live bait in the boat for the second time!!!! Tough conditions and fishing in this wind, but you can still put together a decent mess of fish. We made it back to the camp and Shawn had some incredible boiled shrimp waiting for us. Our neighbor fried up some fresh speckled trout also. Whew!!! Great times had by everyone. Big thanks to Capt Travis Miller for running the second boat and to Lonnie Barr and crew for the great accommodations and company. Hoping to slam the trout in the morning!!
