Cry Motor problems

Ill tell ya the motor is a 2003 mercury 75hp two stroke....you put the oil in the res. and just add gas and it does the rest....It has not ever given me trouble...Sat left calc point headed down the channel got to west cove and it just bogged down....I reached back and primed the bulb which was still hard and gave it the throttle and bam back to fot....after trolling for a while decided to move and it did it again my budddy had to sit and steadily pump the bulb for us to get in...It will Idle ALL DAY with no spits and sputters...Someone told me to drain the tank which i did and the first glass jar looked greenish like it had some oil...dumped it and filled the jar again and looked like gas should....emptied the tank and was told to add a can of SEA FOAM and fill with 100 percent gas and should be fine...You can put the motor in the NEAUTRAL gear and rev it and it revs up fine, only in gear it does it....the motor had a tune up and all lines changed to ethanol lines in december as well as new plugs and wires and filter...I have been running it on ethanol gas with no additives....I was told add the sea foam, add 100 percent gas and should run like a champ...Any one else had this problem or any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance CHRIS.

Yes, my brother has this problem on his Evinrude 225 Vindicator. It runs fine and takes off fine on initial take off but any other time it dies down like you said. But it comes up after a couplep of tries.

Could be trash in the carbs or even a bad fuel line or primer bulb .

Sounds like trash in the carb clogging the high speed jet,and/or a tear in the fuel pump diaphragm.

My suggestion is let a repair shop or someone that knows what there doing figure out the problem. Throwing parts at a engine without knowing for sure the problem will cost you more in the long run. Mechanics that work on engines that the customer tried to repair themselves charge more, trust me.

If your the slightest bit handy itys really not that hard. And for about $150 you can rebuild the fuel pump replace the fuel lines and clean the carbs. Just make sure you soak the carbs for at least and hour. Just spraying them out with carb cleaner may not be enough.

If the fuel pump was bad, would it run at all...idles fine, revs gine, in low its fine, right before cowling fuel line looks older connected to merc fuel line back to bulb and tank, hesitated early that day and got to the pount of using the bulb every 2 sec. to get back in...

The engine can still run if it is a small tear in the fuel pump diaphragm. If you have to pump the bulb often more than likely that is your problem.

had a fuel inline filter and that was causing me problems for the longest time. I bought one of the clear ones and a few packs of the replacement filters. It worked for me.

Clean carbs. Really simple to clean carbs it's just taking them apart, cleaning, and putting back together. Make sure all plastic is off of them before u soak um. Same with the fuel pump. Take it apart, inpect then put back together. Take pics of it before u take it apart if u gave a bad memory. Also u should have no extra parts at the end

Might have it solved...the fuel line is NEW, the fuel filter uggghhh staight up clogged, cant even blow through it, and getting the fuel pump kit done tomm. so hopefully ill be slinging a few sat....looks like the previous owner did everything but change the fuel filter, I have the itemized receipt from his last tune up and NO FILTER was mentioned....
