I had a app called cdma options that jumped from Verizon to sprint when ever I wanted to without rooting my phone. In areas where 3g with Verizon was better for internet I would make the switch and YouTube/internet would load faster. Since the new system update it stopped working.

What the heck? I got the EVO yesterday afternoon and have been enjoying it. I left the house for work with it fully charged and by noon the battery was already dead and the phone off. I played with it a little this morning but not too much. It was in my desk most of the time. What can I do to make the battery last longer (besides obviously bring a charger to work, which I will be doing). I have been hearing that short battery life is a common thing.

I make sure my GPS and WIFI are turned off at work... and close ALL your apps if not using them. hold down the home key and go to task manager. close the programs. some will stay open if you do not exit them a certain way.

The evo must work different from my droid. I've never had to use the task manager. Whenever I check and see what's running I usually have few apps running and those are generally supposed to be running. I hate that android phones have such poor battery life. The iphone 4 lasts much longer without having to tweak settings. Hopefully the next android version will be better.

Impressive! How do you get the display to use so little battery? Display is my #1 battery eater. I keep it on auto brightness.

if you want the latest and greatest, you will be updating your phone every week/2/3/month. depends how updated you wanna be. Cyanogen Mod is nice and new, and super stable, theres' a bunch of evo3d roms coming out , pretty sick too, if you like the stock/sprint feel/look

Once you get familiar with swapping roms it doesn't take that long to swap and get your phone set back up.
