Default June 26th Leeville/Grand Isle trip

Made a trip down to Leeville on Sunday. Hit my usual spots and picked up a few fish here and there. Headed out to Bird Island and got into some nice fish. My son Hunter picked up a real nice one 24" and 4#'s.

Headed in to get some lunch at noon and my wife and son wanted to go eat at bridge side so we headed over there and had lunch. None of the fish on the CCA Star board were bigger than Hunters so we weighed it there and registered it for the tournament.I don't expect it to stay up long but he is only 13 so this will get him in for the youth drawing.

Decided to give the beach a try. Fished along the beach near the rocks and caught steady the rest of the afternoon. Ended up with 67 trout. None of which were under 14" most above 16". Here is a box shot. This is a 120qt Ice chest. Did not limit but did have a good day with quality fish.

Everything was caught on cacaho's and tandem beetles and market bait with cacaho's being the best.

Excellent trip & report. That big trout will keep him pumped up. That is a good spot.
Imagine eating a ham sandwich down wind of that island - well "I know you just gave me a ham sandwich, but it sure tastes like @#$!."
GI is looking good and clean - glad to see that.

This island is near Caste tette. There were thousands of pelicans there. They kept chasing out lines. It really didn't smell as bad as you would expect at least I didn't think so. My wife and son didn't agree though! Lol
