Default MPG

I was trying to figure out the MPG my boat will get. I've got a 21 ft Skeeter Bay Pro with a EFI Mercury 200 on it. I haven't made any big runs with it yet, but was just wondering what it should get...

I always thought outboards were rated by using gallons per hour burned.

My 225 Optimax gets about 3.35 mpg at 4500 rpm and about 3.9 at 4000 rpm.

4 strokes at WOT burn as much if not more fuel than 2 strokes.

Same engine as jchief. Yammy 150 4 stroke:

I've never taken the time to calculate it, but performance bulletin from yamaha says:

3000 RPM = 6.08 MPG
4000 RPM = 5.45 MPG
5000 RPM = 4.46 MPG
6000 RPM = 3.33 MPG (WOT)

Cruise RPM, 9-11 miles per gallon...
