Default V Bay 7-30

Went out of ICY Sat afternoon for a short fishing trip and to run my buddy's new boat. Everyone pulling out at 2 didn't have squat and said the water was muddy in the bay, so we headed straight for the pass. Water looked decent in and out the pass. Headed to Tee Butte and Killed the motor South of teh ridge and started a drift. We started picking up a few here and there and anchored a couple times. The trout were real finicky and were not holding on very long. We missed a load of fish. Fished for about 3hrs and had 16 trout. Not bad for some newbies.

Nice catch. I've caught my biggest trout there also. 6lbs 6 oz. . about 3 years ago we hammered the big trout there for 4 days straight. Lots of 4-5 pounders caught. Tough spot to fish on the weekends with all the traffic there and sometimes it makes you wanna kill someone with their stupidity bit Monday-Thursday its pretty quite there.

Yeah the weekdays are prime out there. End of a incoming tide with a southwest wind and you can smoke em on topwater or suspending baits. About 4 years ago my boss at the time and I caught 20 over 4 pounds,it was awesome.

I like to start on the southwest side of the reef in 5-6 foot and drift to the reef that is closest to the beach. Have caught them good on the east side of the reef too just depends on the wind.
