Default Vermillion Bay

Sorry for the late posts, but I've been busy the past two days. We went out on 8/5 down to V. Bay. We started at daylight and whenever we hit our first spot, the bite was ON. I mean some NICE trout! Quite a few over 20 inches. After that early morning bite, the bite pretty much stopped as soon as it got hot due to the lack of tide. We picked up a few at caldwell and then jumping rig to rig we picked up one or two. Also my cousin Dustin caught a 5 1/2# spaid, which was pretty cool. I thought it was a big drum or red whenever it took off peeling drag lol Also caught one shark which is exactly what my cousin dustin wanted to catch, cuz he never caught one. But he was still excited to be able to see one and everything, also that was his first spaidfish and you can tell from the picture that he was excited boy lol Anyways.... I attached some pictures, but this is my first time posting pics on this site I think, so i dont know if it worked. BTW that wasn't the biggest trout of the day, but it was the first nice one that we caught.

we didn't hit tee butte that day, I didn't think there would be enough tide to even try. You could barely see it moving at caldwell and you know how that place gets lol We caught most of them inside the bay early in the morning. We had to have had close to 10 over 20 inches; it was AWESOME! For size that was definitely my best trip ever.

I like to fish the next reef pass tee-butte when you are coming from the pass. It is only about 300 yards pass tee butte and it goes to the bank. We catch alot of reds their. Tee butte is okay sometimes but man the stupid fricks that will pull up and throw a anchor 15 feet from you is ridiculous. The one thing about the tee butte area though is that you may not catch many but they do have some hogs. That is the only place i have ever fished and caught three trout over 5 lbs. and one a little over 6 in the same trip.

thats some solid fish there! This year is the first year we've ever fished tee butte and it hasn't really put out for us. I've noticed though if you have live bait there; you will definitely catch lol We don't really know that many reefs, I'd rather fish the rigs and the bay. We know one rig out there where we can catch some hogs at though. But they weren't there the last trip.

That was 2 years ago we caught them there like that and it was on LSU cocahoes. I like to fish the bay more myself also and have only fished the rigs a few times. A guy let me follow him a few yers go about 10 miles out to some wooded pillings and we murdered the mule trout but I did not have gps at the time and could nver find the spot again, sure wish I could though.
