Default 25 Yamaha Question

I have a 25 Yamaha that I inherited from my dad. It ran fine last time I ran it (it only has about 50 hours on it). I started it up in the driveway the other day on a hose and it ran fine but I noticed that water was coming out of the exhaust port. It wasn't shooting out but there was a steady flow. Could having the water pressure too high on the hose cause this? Is there something wrong with the motor? It seemed to run fine and water was coming out of the pee hole like it was supposed to. Thanks.

Sounds like it is in bad shape, I will take it off your hands for $500.

Most of the outboards I have had have a fine mist that comes out of the exhuast ports. I don't know if it is supposed to or not, but they never gave me any trouble. Since it is a Yamaha and everything else is working good, I would think you are good to go. Just my opinion, I am not a certified mechanic.

you have small holes in "exhaust tuner" for water to run in order to cool exhaust, if I am wrong and someone else knows somthing else they can correct me

You are right, most outboards will have water come out the prop hub.

Default exhaust

Sounds OK to me. I have a 2005/06 25hp Yamaha and it does the same thing. So far no problems with cooling.
