Default Yaks

Thinking of joining the "yakking crowd". Where do I go for info on the best kayak to buy? Got interested after attending the "Tour de Teche" this weekend. Looks like a lot of peeps enjoyed their "yaks". Thinking I'd like to use it for some speck/red fishing and just fooling around. I'm 65 so I need something that will be easy for an old fart like me to navigate around in. Any comments will be appreciated.

U live in Lafayette. Go to the Backpacker in River Ranch or Pack and Paddle on Pinhook and they will hook u up. I recommend Pack and Paddle.

Pack and paddle will also bring 2-3 kayaks that you want to demo to lake Martin on any Saturday morning for free. Just call them say by Wednesday and ask them about it.

Hobies are awesome just wish they didn't cost 2 grand. I bet they are making a killing on the markup.

A suggestion, buy a canoe.
Cheaper than a yak, more space and room.

I have a sit on Ocean. I just find the seating on a yak uncomfortable.

How long can you sit with your legs straight out in front of you?
