Big ducks or teal? Either way that's a great sign

Uncle won this in a silent auction for me at the delta waterfowl banquet. Runs like a democrat to a voting booth. Just gotta get some blood on it now. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383355609.860915.jpg

Built a new blind in GC today and saw plenty plenty ducks. I'd say 50/50 big ducks and teal, tons of greys. Really excited to get out there next weekend.

My traditions before opening has started. Pulled out the waders; re-cleaned the gun; filled the shell box; checked out the calls; bug spray and charged up the spot light.
Took out 4 packs of doves (60) for the Sat night supper of pot roasted doves and all the fixins'. Will go get a 1/2gallon of Crown, beer and a coupla bottles of vino. Can't wait for early Friday morn to open up the camp, drop boats in the water, load up the dekes and piroques then go in the marsh and set them out. Freshen up the blinds we brushed last weekend. Mid afternoon Friday back to camp and light up the pit for chicken and rib dinner. Stay up late playing bourre', up at 4:00am for many cups of coffee, grab a biscuit with fig preserves then head on out. Get to share this with my son and life long friends. Nothing like it. Hope all of you can make great memories this weekend.

oh and hopefully kill a few ducks!

Great traditions are hard to beat! Sounds like y'all will be doing things right. Hopefully I'll hunt with Chris a few more times this yr. I'm always around that area during hunting season
