Default Clear Jelly in Cast Net

Does anyone know what that clear jelly like stuff in the water is. I have been pulling up tons of it in my cast net. That stuff is slicker than cu* on a gold tooth.

The "clear jelly" you are talking about is actually called a Ctenophore (prounoucned tea-no-four) or commonly know as a Comb Jelly. Unlike jellyfish wich are Cnidarians (pronounced ni-dare-e-ans) they do not posses cnidoblasts (ni-doe-blast) which are venemous cells. In other words they should be harmless to the touch. However, they really suck when they get into your overflow drain for your livewell and cause the water to overflow.

I've been pulling up a ton of them the last month or two.

I'd take either, Lord on a desert island even Lovey Howell would do. If I had my choice it'd be Mary Ann.

I second that.....Mary Ann all the way. Too bad I don't plan on getting stranded on any desert islands anytime soon.
