Default calcasieu point

checked the salinity at calcasieu point today, meter read 6.1ppt slowly starting to come up again

Thanks for the information. Hackberry reading is around 8-10 ppt now.

Oh ok. When I worked for calcasieu lock we would take salt readings from Calc point all the way to the mermentau river. That was always an enjoyable boat ride.

Here's a link to the USGS Current Conditions of a site located in the north end of Calcasieu Lake you may find interesting. It's updated daily and shows salinity, temperature and a couple of other things. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/dv?re...te_no=08017095

i use a ysi 30. 5 ppt is kinda low. i wanna say last year around this time it was around 14 -16 at calcasieu point. and in 2010 it was around 18. right north of hackberry readings were a little higher than that.
