Default STAR's approaching:

Twas the days before STAR and all were getting ready
To awake on Saturday to finding yourself all edgy.

Getting the stuff all packed and put away
you just cant get the big trout off your mind all day.

You sit and you wonder just will it happen
Or is it your best frind in Joes steady catchn.

You cant find the big ones to save the day
So you crack open a beer to pave the way.

So time has tiked by and your heading in
To only stop in west cove and try to end the day with a grin.

You throw on the bone super spook that looks so good
and chick chick chick and all of a sudden its the BIG trout thats beyond motherhood...

As your heart starts to pump and blood starts to flow
the sun starts to set but your face is the glow.

As it gets close you seem to see
that two tooth trout swimming with ease.

She gets twenty feet or so from the boat
and all of a sudden she decides to let go.

The bait goes flying across the boat
And you sit on the floor feeling like your about to choke.

You only can wonder just how big
If I would have landed it might have been that "BIG"

So the days get closer to kick off
just remember it was a 50 dollar payoff.

Maybe a tagged red, maybe a 9lb trout.
Just remember its the STAR that runs the South.

Good luck to all and just have fun
You never know you might be the lucky one.

C YA SATURDAY,
INCH.....

Get yoself pumped up....Vid taken from HR&G Websit:

Nicely done, I was one of the LUCKY ones in 04, it's a fish i'll never forget. I can still remember every last run she made before she was safely in the net, man was that a thrill, I even tied the ice chest down in the back of the truck while I high tailed it to cajun fast mart to weigh her, I was afraid the ice chest was going to fly out of my truck! ha...Looking forward to maybe getting Lucky again..good luck all..

Back then they gave a boat a month, there was just the east and west side. The overall big trout won a 21 champion I believe. I won the last time period, August into sept, I won a 19ft nautic star with a 90hp, I never put the boat in the water, I sold it the day after I picked it up. My fish was 8.7lbs, the other two winners that year were like 9.4 and 9.3, it was very close with them guys, one of them was Chad Paulk I think and don't remember the other guy. I remember the overall winner caught a tagged redfish two years later for another Star boat, you have to sit out the following year when you win one.
