Default Another "pond" report

Since some people think Vernon lake is a "Pond". I decided to fish it after I got off work at 5:00pm saturday 5-26-12. Got to the launch at 5:35 and was in my spot by 5:50pm. Started throwing flukes ona 3/8oz jig head and was bringin' 'em in every cast. Ran out of the only pack of flukes after about 30 bass and started throwing topwater. Left the lake at 8:30pm with my limit (8) all 13 and 3/4" (Slot is 14"-17"). Caught 7 in the slot, but had to release. Filleted them the next morning and found a hook in the gut of one of 'em.

Enjoy the pics.

Made a trip Sunday with Jaclyn.renea, caught 2 keepers and gave them to family fishing on their dock. Got pulled over for leaving the blue lights on in my boat. No ticket, thank god.

Also made a trip yesterday with 2 sacs and a 13" bass to show for. No pics on the trip from yesterday.

Nice job Pook! Cool pic. That couldn't have been comfortable for that bass.

Forgot to mention that saturday evening, the bass were busting minnows on top and was actually ramming into the boat chasing after the minners.

Nice mess Jordan. I did pretty good on the "pond" myself this weekend with the jugs and trotlines.

You should've seen her face when water was almost coming over the stern of the boat. I had to cut in front of 2 people to get my boat on the trailer and it took 15 minutes to drain water out of it. It literally had 2' of water in the boat. People at the launch were LTAO. It was pretty funny, thats what you get for being in a hurry.

Only thing i was wondering is why "someone" didnt at least say something to me as i was walking back to the launch to get in the boat. Or at least pull the boat up the launch.

Kind of funny about the plug. The only time I ever fished there, after launching the boat I talked with another person about where to fish on the lake.

When I finally went down the the boat, it was sitting low in the water. Figured it would be quicker to put it back on the trailer and let it drain than to just use the bilge pump.

Stay on them Jordan. You are doing a lot better than I ever have on that lake. I've fished there 4 or 5 times and only caught one fish. Good looking fish.

Jordon I caught this slap on the pond yesterday. I sent a jig down 3 times for 3 sacs and this was the 3rd. After that I couldnt get another bite. It was 16in and a cheap spring scale said 2#. We caught a few bass nothing worth keeping. We were using chrome and blue torpedos. Love the top water fishing at Vernon. Today it was too windy to locate the bass.
I am looking to do some night fishing next week while on vacation.
