Saw a guy on the job one day walk up to the nest with them flying everywhere. He was eating a apple pie at the time. He just put the pie is his mouth and pour a few gallons of deisel down the hole. Then lit it on fire. How that crazy son of ***** did not get stung. I have no clue. Was funny as hell to watch. We just knew they were fixing to sting the crap out of him, but not even one sting. LOL

I hate those things, I worked in landscaping for a summer and every single week I would find a nest it seemed like. Like said above you need to wait until night when they are all in the nest and then get after them. Gasoline or diesel will both work. No need to light it or anything the vapors kill them. You may want to bring a can of spray as you are walking up to the nest to kill the ones guarding the hole, but I have never been stung by just walking up to them and pouring gas in the hole. If you shine a light on them they will know you are coming! Place a flag or something by the nest so you will know. If you have any kids at the camp they would probably like to take on the challenge! or find the camp drunk to do it!

Years ago when my son was a young boy he rode over a nest on my property riding a 4 wheeler. Got bit about 25-30 times....very painful.
Like the others said, wait till dark and pour gas down the hole. Worked for me.

Several years ago, I was stung hundreds of times. Doctor could not count the actual number of stings. After I got out of the hospital, I went to kill them. I poured two gallons of gas into an bucket. Got in my truck and drove to the hole. I rolled down the window and poured the gas into the hole. It killed them all.

I got stung by over 50 when I was about 12 years old. My dad's friend was on a dozer making roads and I was behind him on an atv. He came through a creek and must have uncovered them and I was just puttin along right behind him and they jumped on me. Never ran so fast in my life. Had to get taken to ER.

I got attacked by them when I was a kid, I was knocked out cold, my uncle came and got me and we both ended up in the hospital. I remember he ended up worse off than me, they couldn't count the stings on either of us.

For a couple years I remember my family walking around pouring gas in EVERY hole they could find on the property.
