Good question?
On another note read the warranty on your Water Heater. It states you must have a certified plumber install it for the warranty to be valid. |

suggestion.......before you put the hot water heater in the "drip" pan, put something about an 1" thick under the tank so that it is raised up. If you do ever get a leak the bottom of the tank will not get wet and rust out.
My neighbor must have had a leak for a long time because the bottom of HWH was rusted out. There was also some "blown insulation" around the tank which allowed water to be wicked up to the side of the tank. |

There's no difference in glass or porcelain. They are all porcelain lined, just been called glass for many years. Must be 2 different brands or they are calling one glass & one porcelain to make you think you're getting a better product & they get to stick a little extra cash in their pocket. Even if there was a difference, it's a liner to keep water from touching the steel & rusting or corroding the tank so it shouldn't matter as long as water doesn't touch the steel.

Also look at a Heat Pump Water Heater. They are about $900 here, but we get a $700 rebate. Then it uses much less power, and will keep the garage cooler and drier, as it will work like a dehu.
