Hi Billy,


Well we got our rods mid week last week and they are beautiful. We headed for our place in Rockport and yesterday my wife landed her biggest redfish to date (just under 28 inches, and 9+ pounds !) on her new Billystix rod. She was and remains so excited (the smiles were huge) and we took these photos to share with you and to thank you for choosing her as a contest winner and for making such fine rods. I will post some pics and a good write up on 2cool when I have a chance this week.

things are looking better, all i need is to get a few more rods in the hands of the fishermen then it's on the stix will deliver the message.
i already have had one cajun tell me he loves the way it fights a fish but he just cant tell me exalty why he likes it so much only that he loves the way it feels.
now stay tuned cause "w " is about to break with some billystix news so stay tuned somewhere here on salty cajun.
i talked today and i am suppose to have coming salty cajun stickers for the rods if you want them, thats in the very near future.

I fished my new Billy Stix spiral rod today. It definitely feels different when casting lures.
It throws 1/8 oz. leadheads about the best I ever have thrown.
I only caught some dink trout today so I cannot say how it handles the big boys yet.

WHat reel you have on it?

did the cast feel smoother to ya than on the other rods, and could you tell the difference in the effort as far as less effort to achive the same distance.

Very effortless chunking the 1/8 oz. jig head. It felt very different than the other rods I have used.
I didn't use any other size jig heads yet. I will let you know more tomorrow. I have the same reel on both my Billy Stix rod and my Calcutta rod.
I will rig them up the same tonight to see if I can tell you more tomorrow.

RAY PLEASE DO, AS I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT I KNOW THE TEXAS GUYS TELL ME THEY GET A BETTER CAST WITH LONGER DISTANCE WITH LESS EFFORT AND THEY ALSO TELL ME THE SENSITIVITY IS BETTER AS WELL AS A SMOOTHER CAST DUE TO THE LOW PROFILE GUIDES, THE REASON I USE THESE GUIDES ARE BECAUSE THEY ARE COSTLY AND THEY HUG THE BLANK, AND I LIKE TO PUT GUIDES ON A ROD PLUS I LIKE TO HAVE THE STRIPPER GUIDE CLOSE TO THE REEL FOR THE FIRST GUIDE TO BE ABLE TO CATCH THE LINE AND HOLD IT JUST AS SOON AS IT COMES OFF THE SPOOL.
I BELIVE I AM GOING TO GET A PRODUCT REVIEW FROM TEXAS SALTWATER FISHING MAG ON BILLYSTIX CUSTOM SPIRAL RODS COMING UP IN NOV OR AT LEAST THEY ARE GIVING SOME THOUGHT TO DOING A PRODUCT REVIEW AND FIELD TEST ON MY CUSTOM BILLYSTIX SPIRAL RODS, LORD PRAY THAT I GET THAT I NEED THAT BIG TIME, IF I COULD GET THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD RAPILY, I SHIPPED A ROD TODAY FOIR A FIELD DEMO AND EVALUWATION SO LETS PRAY AND HOPE COMEON J=GUYS HELP ME
