Default Late V-Bay Report

I went to Vermillion Bay on Saturday With a buddy and my 8 year old son. We ended up with 25 specs with the 2 biggest at 4 1/2 lbs. Had a great time on the water. had to leave early so left them bitting. All were caught on glow cacahoes on bottom.

Great mess of specs. I have never fished VB much. But I from what I have read in the past and talking with people seems this time of year when the fishing starts to get good.

I think it was the trash pile? At least that is what I was told it was. Have only fished V Bay 4 times and didn t know my way around to much so I just went to spots that I had been before. On my GPS I was right by Lt. Mud Point and Pelican Pt. The first 3 hours nothing then the turned on. Lost at least 10 at the boat. I had a hurt arm and had a problem with the net. Oh and there were only a few boats when I pulled up, and the were very scattered. When I left I counted 36 and all within a 500 yd area.

yeah you were on the trashpile. That's an awesome report though. It means that they are definitely starting to show up in the bay, especially with the size you caught. The salinity is still low too so its just going to get better and better. I'll be out there this weekend.

well lets put it this way the only time i have seen boats any closer together was at a boat show. funny thing is that you could tell they(trout) were moving around. because boats would catch a couple then nothing and then you would see someone else start to reel them in. and the guys that were tryin to crowd us didnt catch jack because the were to busy moving around. I was ready for it after reading reports about the place. It is very close to my house but man alot of jerks. Oh well let them waste their time.

nice report man. I just started fishing the bay and love it. The crowding is gonna happen so dont let it stress you out and if someone ask if you are catching telll them "1 or 2 but I have been her all day but I heard they were biting on the other side of the bay" it may work.
