Default Helpful House Cleaning Tip

I have been wanting to clean the columns on my house for a while so I went to Lowes to look for a cleaning solution and I came across this stuff.

I bought a scrub brush because I know some of these products say they will work without scrubbing but they seldom do...

This was a picture of my column BEFORE:

I sprayed it down and got ready to start my scrubbing but then the magic happened... I didnt touch this column with anything but my sprayer and then hosed it off... this was AFTER:

I tried it on a few other items like the vinyl windows, my front door, the vinyl soffitt, the gutters, and a small area of siding... WOW... it worked great on everything. So if you have some mold or discoloration on the North side of your house like I do, you might want to give this product a try. It was $20 for the jug and it makes 20 gallons of spray.

P.S. I know I need to paint my columns... It's only been 3 years since I built my house... gimme a break.

I use it on my house here in Houma, La. It is the best stuff I've ever used. I only have to clean my house once a year!

That stuff has been around for sometime. It really works and glad you found it. You should try it on your boat. It works great, just cut the solution a little, spray on with a potatoe pump, and rinse with pressure hose.

I have been using it on the house but never tried on the boat. I have some heavy mold inside of my CC, bilge, and anchor locker. Im going to have to try it.

Works great, and worth the money! Old Duckaholic turned me on to it.

I just use a 1/3 solution of Chlorax and water. I also add about 1/2 cup of laundry soap. The bad spots may need to to give it a little brushing with a broom before washing off with a hose.

I can clean the whole house for $ 2 and 3 or 4 hours. Just washing with the water hose takes off most of the dirt. The chlorax and soap make it shine a little.

I've used clorox also, but my termite man told me that clorox damages your termite treatment around the house. So thats out for me unless some of you know better.

The JOMAX concentrate does require some bleach and water to be added... not sure how cutting the bleach would affect termite treatments

my issue is i have a very steep roof (pitch) and that means some vinyl way up there to clean. I don't feel like using an extension ladder...not fun for my big azz...I would like to be able to reach the vinyl with some cleaner, let it do its thing then pressure wash. Other parts of my house are reachable with a pump sprayer...the high vinyl is the problem...

Thinking of something like this...

JO-MAX won't work w/o bleach. The bleach acts as an activator. It's been around for at least 20 years. I found it on sale at Hope Cheapo once for $9.99 and bought like 40 gallons. Pretty good stuff. Just make sure you rinse well...especially around glass.
