One trip on BL......I had caught several nice trout by jigging at a "medimun" speed. On one cast I got several "bumps" but the trout would not take the bait. Next cast, same thing........but as I was quickly reeling in the last 10 yards of line...bamb. Next cast I tried a fast retrieve.....bamb. Again. You have to change up how you fish a bait to find how the trout want to feed that day. |

I buy the pre rigged tandem rigs. Mostly chartreuse and use them all the time. One of my favorite rigs. I find when I catch one fish if I wait a bit before reeling in the fish and allow him to struggle for a bit another fish will usually grab the second bait. If you just start reeling in the fish many times you'll only get a single.

I won't go out without glow sparks and grubs. In VB I find 1/4oz under a cork to work best. Fishing Dry Reef, Blue Point and Hammick I'll use 3/8oz working in quick jerks off the bottom. Fish will hit on the fall. The grub seems to be the preferred go to bait for me.

All you need is the chartreuse. Single or double rigged. I like it under a cork. Favorite all time bait. Cheap, durable. One of the poles always has it on.
