Hey peeps.

The contest is with the fish. I never mind a little company, as long as everyone stays out of casting distance.

Share the water. Share the fish. Share the times. Let those poor suckers in FL, MS, and TX fight over the few fish they have.

You in the sportsman's paradise.

Like mentioned already the biggest issue is fishing etiquette,95 percent of boaters have zero. If you don't like it either fish on weekdays or chase redfish and flounder. Or if you really want some peace and quiet find freshwater spot less traveled. When I first started trout fishing it didn't bother me at all cause it was all new to me. Now I can't stand it so I don't trout fish often anymore. Fishing is all about enjoying yourself in nature...it's good for the soul, not getting pissed off. I can also understand how someone that makes a living on the water could have an issue with people giving away "secret" spots. But the times we are living in it comes with the territory,it is what it is.

Good point, but I might rephrase it as, "The specks would be less pressured if the enthusiasts displayed a less elitist attitude and demonstrated more respect for other species and the anglers who pursue them." There is a lot of joy, good times, and fine cuisine catching other species, and Big Lake and Sabine both have a lot to offer.

Redfish are cool, and so are those who catch them. Even at the weirs. Even with live bait or dead skrimps.

Flounder are cool, and so are those who catch them. Even at the weirs. Even with live bait or dead skrimps.

Sheepshead are cool, and so are those who catch them. Even at the weirs. Even with live bait or dead skrimps.

Drum are cool, and so are those who catch them. Even at the weirs. Even with live bait or dead skrimps.

Gafftops are cool, and so are those who catch them. Even at the weirs. Even with live bait or dead skrimps.

Oyster toadfish are cool, and so are those who catch them. Even at the weirs. Even with live bait or dead skrimps.

Hardheads are cool. OK just not true.

Years ago it was Harleys, then it became fishing. Give it a few years. Folks will go onto the next "cool thing" and it'll all slow down

Yes!!! A Haynie led armada will be seen making its way through the lake stopping at "every reef" pillaging the trout population to near irreversable numbers.
